It’s Spring Break and I can finally breathe for the first time all semester. However, like a bunch of people I know, I’m not going on any booze-cruises or exotic destinations (unless you consider Magic Mountain to be exotic), and instead I’m hanging out in the area I grew up in. What’s a girl to do? Read below to find out how I’m planning my spring break staycation, and to get ideas for your own!
Reconnect with Friends
I don’t know about you, but life constantly gets in the way of my attempts to have a social life. What better way to use your free time (if you don’t have a bunch of homework like me) than to hang out with all those friends that you’ve been meaning to see for ages? Now you can finally catch-up without essays and early alarm clocks hovering over your head, so use it to your advantage!
Lately I’ve been trying to actually go to all of the restaurants, dessert joints, and cafes that have been plaguing my Instagram, and this week gives me a chance to actually make a dent in my ever-growing list! If there is a certain coffee shop or ice cream joint that you’ve been dying to test out, now’s the perfect time to do so! On my list is Lifehouse Tonics, Alfred’s Coffee and Tea, and Sugarfish!
Try A New Look
New season, new you! (That’s totally not a phrase at all). But jokes aside, why not change up your look this week? This can be anything from getting a fake piercing like I did, to shopping at thrift stores or scouring the sale racks for that signature item! One of my favorite things to do is experiment with different hairstyles on break, but this year I think I might start a pin collection!
Listen to Local Artists
Embrace your local bands! See what venues are offering $12 concerts and go ahead and spend a night (or seven) listening to all the new music your town has to offer. Pictured here is a band i came across called Folkasaurus, give them a listen if you have the chance!
Happy break everyone!
