Guess who’s back, back again. Dirty Lemon’s back, tell your friends.
Hey hi hello everyone! Today I am bringing you yet another installment of my Dirty Lemon reviews, but this time it’s all about one of their newest tonics, Skin+Hair!
In case you are new to the Dirty Lemon #yestomore crew, Dirty Lemon started out with their classic Detox of charcoal and lemon, and have since expanded to include multiple cleanses and tonics to suit all of your needs. Skin+Hair is one of the newest, and when I heard about the release I had to get my hands on it!
Because summer wrecks havoc on my skin and I’ve recently gone back to blonde, this tonic could not have come at a better time. Wondering what it’s all about? The ingredients in this particular tonic are combined to help promote skin elasticity, increase internal collagen production, and offer nutrients to optimize your hair health. Sounds like a dream, right?
First off, the packaging is a little different than the traditional clear bottle with white stripes, this time going for a more subdued white-and-grey scheme. As always, it comes in at 10 calories and is to be consumed daily. Same old, same old. Although, I just wanted to remind y’all that “consumed daily” does not mean it has to be in one sitting! I prefer drinking mine with a meal, but you can also sip on it all day long if that’s more your speed.
The taste is definitely different, more lemon-y with a sharp cayenne kick that hangs out in the back of your throat. Think about a really strong ginger drink, and it’s along the same lines…aka nothing catastrophic, but a little spicy. I was a little surprised at first, since I was expecting the traditional lemon flavor, but it quickly grew on me and even my boyfriend loved it! Also due to the lack of charcoal in this mix, the tonic itself is not black like the original detox, but is instead a very pale yellow.
Overall, this tonic was just what I needed to refresh and recharge my skin and hair care, and it definitely made a difference in the brightness and overall appearance of my skin and hair. Before getting the tonics I was breaking out like I was 13 all over again, and this made a huge difference in getting my skin to not only calm down, but also retain moisture. Plus, my hair is in amazing condition even after all the bleaching, and this can only have helped mend and protect it along the way! If you’ve been hanging out in the sun 24/7 (#summer) or have been jet-setting and living in the airplane recycled air, I would definitely recommend this to you in order to get your skin and hair back on track!
Let me know if you want me to review the other tonics, and until then I’ll see you next time!
